Zusammenfassung
Offshoring bedeutet die Verlagerung von bestimmten Unternehmensbereichen in das entfernte Ausland – meist in der Kombination mit Outsourcing. Die relevanten Aktivitäten werden dabei in Länder verlagert, in denen die für die jeweilige Aktivität notwendigen Faktoren günstiger oder hochwertiger sind, z.B. werden beschäftigungsintensive Tätigkeiten in Billiglohnländer wie Indien verlagert. Das Ziel beim Offshoring ist die Senkung der Kosten.
