Zusammenfassung
In den letzten Jahrzehnten ist für die unternehmerischen Entscheidungen Unvorhersehbares zur Regel geworden. Die Verflechtung der Märkte, ständig steigende Anforderungen von Kunden und der rasche technische Wandel fordern von den Unternehmern, sich ständig an neue Gegebenheiten anzupassen. In einem solchen Umfeld, in dem Geländeformationen plötzlich ihr Aussehen verändern, nützt dem Unternehmer keine Generalstabskarte, in der die Wege zum Ziel genau aufgezeichnet sind; gefragt kann vielmehr nur ein Kompaß sein, der die Richtung vorgibt.
