Zusammenfassung
Das Thema Organisationsentwicklung ist aktueller denn je. Ja, es hat sogar dem Thema Strategie eindeutig den Rang abgelaufen. Die bekannte Maxime “structure follows strategy” geht davon aus, jede Organisation könne so gestaltet werden, daß sie eine gewählte Strategie erfolgreich umsetzen kann. Dabei ist die Strategie der dominante Faktor, und die entsprechende Organisation wird daraus abgeleitet. Obwohl diese Logik für Neugründungen noch Sinn machen kann, scheint sie für etablierte Unternehmen mit „gewachsenen“ Traditionen, Einstellungen und Verhaltensweisen eher naiv.1 Eine existierende Organisation — insbesondere eine große — kann in der Regel nicht durch Umlegen der “Ruder” Strategie und Struktur in eine neue Richtung gelenkt werden, wahrscheinlicher sind Frustration und Chaos die Folge.
