Zusammenfassung
Ein Ionentriebwerk besteht aus:
-
1.
dem Treibstoffördersystem, welches die Stützmassen aus dem Vorratsbehälter (Tank) in den Verdampfer leitet;
-
2.
dem Verdampfer oder Boiler, in dem die gewöhnlich flüssigen Treibstoffe verdampfen;
-
3.
dem Ionisator oder der Ionenquelle, wo die Stützmassen ionisiert werden;
-
4.
dem Beschleuniger, in dem die Treibstoffionen auf die erforderliche Geschwindigkeit gebracht werden, und
-
5.
dem Neutralisator, der für eine elektrische Ladungskompensation von Treibstoffstrahl und Raumschiff sorgt.
