Dieses Kapitel gibt einen Überblick und zeigt auf, dass es schon viele Evidenzen aber auch noch viele offene Fragen gibt. Es werden ausgewählte Kommunikationskonzepte beschrieben wie z. B. Close-the-Loop, Shared Decision Making, Empathie und Motivational Interviewing. Empfehlungen sind insbesondere, dass Kommunikationskonzepte in der Praxis implementiert und systematisch weiter evaluiert werden sollten, so dass die vermittelnden Prozesse in Zukunft besser verstanden und unterstützt werden können.
