Zusammenfassung

Die hämophagozytische Lymphohistiozytose (HLH) und das Makrophagenaktivierungssyndrom (MAS) stellen überschießende und pathologische Entzündungskonstellationen dar, die aufgrund des charakteristisch deutlich erhöhten Ferritins auch unter dem Oberbegriff der „Hyperferritinämie-Syndrome“ zusammengefasst werden. Angeborene Defekte der Zytotoxizität oder bestimmte rheumatische Erkrankungen (systemische JIA, Kollagenosen) sind typische Grunderkrankungen, in deren Rahmen sich eine HLH bzw. ein MAS entwickeln  kann.
