Zusammenfassung
Thermodynamik ist eine Wortkombination der alt-griechischen Begriffe „Thermo“ (warm) und „Dynamis“ (Kraft). Sie zeigt, dass Wärme und Arbeit eng miteinander verbunden sind. Damit hatte sich Jahrhun-derte lang die allgemeine Physik befasst. Nach der Entwicklung und Verbreitung der Dampfmaschinen, im 18. Jahrhundert, hat die Komplexität dieses Zusammenspiels deutlich zugenommen und so ist die Thermodynamik zu einer eigenständigen Wissenschaft geworden.
