Zusammenfassung
Der menschliche Verdauungstrakt besteht aus verschiedenen Untereinheiten, welche alle unterschiedliche Funktionen im komplexen Vorgang der Verdauung wahrnehmen. Ziel der Nahrungsverdauung ist es, die drei Hauptenergielieferanten (Proteine, Fette, Kohlenhydrate) mittels mechanischer und chemischer Prozesse in ihre Grundbausteine zu zerlegen, damit sie vom Körper aufgenommen und in Energie umgewandelt werden können. Nahrungsreste, die vom Körper nicht aufgenommen werden können, werden als Stuhl aus dem Körper ausgeschieden. Der Stuhl kann in Abhängigkeit von der Motilität, vom eingenommenen Essen, der bakteriellen Zusammensetzung des Darms etc. bezüglich Farbe, Häufigkeit und Konsistenz enorm unterschiedlich ausfallen und ändert sich auch im Laufe des Lebens.
