Zusammenfassung
Die Anorexia nervosa (AN) ist eine ernst zu nehmende und häufig chronisch verlaufende psychische Erkrankung, die die Lebensqualität der Betroffenen erheblich beeinträchtigt. Zur Kernsymptomatik dieser Erkrankung zählt, neben anderen Symptomen, die Angst vor einer Gewichtszunahme. In Abhängigkeit vom Untergewicht kann der reduzierte Allgemeinzustand in Kombination mit Pneumonien, Elektrolytentgleisungen, Herzrhythmusstörungen, Störungen der Blutbildung, gastrointestinalen Blutungen und hepatischen oder renalen Funktionsstörungen zu schwerwiegenden, u. U. auch letalen Komplikationen führen. Eine Zwangsbehandlung gegen den Willen der Patientinnen kann bei starkem Untergewicht und einem schlechten Allgemeinzustand medizinisch und ethisch gerechtfertigt sein, wenn die Patientinnen krankheitsbedingt nicht ausreichend für sich sorgen können und nicht mehr einwilligungsfähig sind.
