Zusammenfassung
Pflanzen können eine Vielzahl chemischer Substanzen und deren Konzentration aus der biotischen und abiotischen Umgebung wahrnehmen und auf die Detektion in Form von Wachstumsänderungen oder durch Abgabe chemischer Stoffe sowie durch die induzierte Expression von Genen reagieren. Beispiele sind die Wahrnehmung von Nährstoffen, CO2 und Wasser.
