Zusammenfassung
Kap. 15 beschäftigt sich mit den Möglichkeiten der Reduktion und dem Management von Komplexität. Standardisierung verschiedener Bereiche als Instrument der Fehlervermeidung und Checklisten als Formalisierung von Standards werden mit ihren Grenzen und Gründen für ihr Scheitern diskutiert. Übergreifende Strategien, um Organisationen in Richtung Patientensicherheit zu bewegen, sind zum Beispiel Human-Factors-orientierte Systemgestaltung und Wissensmanagement.
