Zusammenfassung

Die weltweit erste erfolgreiche Penistransplantation fand 2014 am Tygerberg Krankenhaus der Akademischen Lehranstalt der Universität Stellenbosch in Südafrika statt. Der neunstündige Eingriff wurde von einem chirurgischen Team bestehend aus Plastischen Chirurgen und Urologen durchgeführt.

In diesem Kapitel werden Indikationen und Kontraindikationen der Penistransplantation beschrieben. Daran schließt sich die detaillierte Beschreibung der OP-Techniken an. Dazu gehört die Hebung des Spenderorganes, die Vorbereitung des Empfängers und Transplantation und schließlich die Penoid-Rekonstruktion des Spenders.
