1 Target 1: Shutdown of Nuclear Power Plants

The successive shutdown of the remaining operational nuclear power plants has a fixed schedule and so far is proceeding as planned (Table 11.1). The last milestone was reached in June 2015 with the shutdown of the nuclear power plant Grafenrheinfeld in Bavaria (actually 6 months earlier than planned).

2 Target 2: Expansion of Renewable Energies

The planned milestone for RE expansion has clearly been achieved, indeed even exceeded (Table 11.2).

3 Target 3: Increase in Electricity Efficiency

Electricity efficiency (GDP/gross electricity consumption) in 2015 was around 9% higher than in 2010. This improvement is slightly greater than the intended increase rate of 1.6% per year (Table 11.3).
