Zusammenfassung
Anatomisch bestehen Gefäße aus den drei Schichten des Endothels, der Media und der Adventitia. In den Klassifikationen der vaskulären Tumorerkrankungen (z. B. Enzinger und Weiss (Enzinger und Weiss 2001), bzw. Fletcher et al. 2013) werden unter den „Gefäßtumoren“ aber nur die Erkrankungen des Endothels abgehandelt. Unter therapeutischen Gesichtspunkten sind oft auch Tumoren der Media und der Adventitia, speziell wenn sie von größeren Gefäßen ausgehen, als „Gefäßtumor im weiteren Sinne“ zu behandeln und werden deshalb in diesem Kapitel mit angesprochen.
