Zusammenfassung

Die Entstehung von Erkrankungen des Herzens und der Gefäße kann mit Hilfe von Risikofaktoren gut erklärt werden. Dieses Konzept ist seit Jahrzehnten bekannt und wird auch in anderen Fachgebieten der Medizin erfolgreich angewandt. Bluthochdruck ist der am häufigsten auftretende Risikofaktor für die Entstehung eines Herzinfarktes in Deutschland. Weitere Risikofaktoren sind zu hohe Blutfette, Diabetes mellitus, bauchbetontes Übergewicht, Bewegungsmangel, falsche Ernährung und das Rauchen. Auch psychosoziale Belastungen (z. B. Stress und fehlende Entspannung) sowie genetische Veranlagung ehöhen das Risiko für einen Herzinfarkt.
