Zusammenfassung
Für das Bestehen im globalen Wettbewerb sind Effektivitäts- und Effizienzsteigerungen bei Unternehmen notwendig. Die Basis für diese Steigerungen liegt im Produktentstehungsprozess. Entscheidungen hinsichtlich des Produktdesigns beeinflussen maßgeblich den gesamten Produktentstehungsprozess. Zu Beginn dieses Buchkapitels werden die Wurzeln des Lean Development vorgestellt. Anschließend wird kurz der Aufbau des Buches vorgestellt. Daraufhin werden die Entwicklung des Lean Development und eine Einführung in die Gestaltungsprinzipien gegeben. Der Geltungsbereich von Lean Development wird definiert, woraufhin das Kapitel mit einem Überblick über die aktuelle Umsetzung von Lean Development bei Unternehmen schließt.
