Zusammenfassung
Im Englischen wird sprachlich zwischen einer unsystematischen Unsicherheit mit Unwohlsein (dizziness) und gerichtetem Schwindel mit Wahrnehmung einer Scheinbewegung (vertigo) unterschieden. Im Deutschen wird auch kurzfristiges oder länger dauerndes Unwohlsein, Schwanken oder das Gefühl „als ob der Boden unter den Füßen versinkt“ als Schwindel bezeichnet. Es ist sehr wichtig, eine anschauliche Beschreibung der Schwindelphänomene in der Anamnese zu erhalten.
