Zusammenfassung
Eine Strecke ist die kürzeste Verbindung zwischen ihren Endpunkten. Ein Bogen eines Großkreises ist die kürzeste Kurve zwischen zwei Punkten auf einer Kugel. Unter allen geschlossenen ebenen Kurven von gleicher Länge umschließt der Kreis die größte Fläche, und unter allen geschlossenen Flächen vom gleichen Flächeninhalt umschließt die Kugel das größte Volumen.
