Zusammenfassung
Jede Glasfabrikation bewegt sich zwischen zwei Grenzfällen, zwischen der Erzeugung guten fehlerfreien Glases und derjenigen fehlerhaften Glases. Eine der Hauptursachen fehlerhaften Glases ist die Kristallisation. Sie ist das natürliche Endstadium, das von jeder Schmelze angestrebt wird. Die Kunst der Glasherstellung stellt somit primär eigentlich nichts anderes als eine überlistung der Tendenz jeder Schmelze dar, in den energieärmsten Zustand überzugehen und zu kristallisieren.
