Abstract
Depending on which taxonomists are consulted, the genus Anemone is reckoned to have, worldwide, from 120 to 150 species, distributed primarily in the north- temperate region, though with outliers on the upland parts of tropical mountains. A. rivularis occurs, for example, in Sri Lanka, India and west China. A. sumakense is found in Java, Sumatra and India.
