Abstract
Fractures of the forearm present unique management problems. In these particular diaphyseal fractures, perhaps more than any others, the combination of skeletal stability with mobility of the extremity is necessary to produce excellent functional results. The ASIF system of stable internal fixation is admirably suited to this end; therefore, it is not surprising that the use of this system in diaphyseal fractures of the radius and ulna has revolutionized their management and improved the end results.
