Abstract

According to the Josephson relation (7.24) the motion of single flux quanta or flux tubes containing many flux quanta generates individual voltage pulses with a characteristic time dependence. Therefore, the time-averaged dc flux-flow voltage contains ac components which are related to the quantized nature of the individual voltage contributions. Microscopic information on the voltage-generating mechanism can be obtained from the electrical noise power spectrum.
