Dieses Kapitel vertieft die Behandlung der Sicherheitsproblematik, die durch den DCE Security Service realisiert wird. Seine wesentlichen Mechanismen, nämlich Authentisierung, Autorisierung und Verschlüsselung, helfen zu gewährleisten, daß Server-Aufrufe und Datenzugriffe nur von genau den Clients bzw. Instanzen durchgeführt werden, die auch die erforderliche Berechtigung besitzen, und daß unberechtigte Instanzen keine Kenntnis von den ausgetauschten Daten erlangen. In diesem Zusammenhang verifiziert die Authentisierung die Identität von Client und Server.
