Zusammenfassung
Im Rahmen einer Untersuchung zu unterstützter Vergemeinschaftung in den USA besuchte ich 2014/2015 eine Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in North Carolina, in Deutschland vergleichbar mit einer Seniorenresidenz, deren Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner, Leitungspersonal sowie Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter ich interviewte sowie (ethnographisch) teilnehmend beobachtete. Das Hauptinteresse des Forschungsaufenthaltes galt der Frage, wie Individuen nach Umzug in das Alterswohnen ihrem neuen sozialen Umfeld begegnen und es gestalten und inwiefern das Management sowie die räumlichen Begebenheiten der CCRC die Prozesse des Beziehungsaufbaus sowie die Entwicklung von Zugehörigkeitsgefühlen unterstützen würden. Sowohl in den Interviews mit der Leitung bzw.
Harald Künemund ist nicht nur ein kluger, hinterfragender und begeisterter Soziologe, für viele (so auch mich) ein hoch geschätzter Wegbegleiter und Mentor, sondern auch versierter Musiker. In Anerkennung dieses so wichtigen Aspekts seiner Biographie und Persönlichkeit sind alle Kapitelüberschriften als Reminiszenz an ein Musikstück gestaltet. Nun also als erster Song: Uptown Girl.
