Zusammenfassung
Das Kapitel widmet sich den Forschungsdebatten über Flucht und Frauen und zeichnet Entwicklungen seit den 1950er Jahren überblickshaft nach. Der Blick liegt auf englisch- und deutschsprachigen Studien, um Schwerpunktsetzungen zu reflektieren. Anhand des Überblicks wird gezeigt, dass die Rollen von geflüchteten Frauen in wissenschaftlichen wie auch politischen, rechtlichen und humanitären Debatten lange unzureichend Beachtung fanden. Erst in den 1980er Jahren nahmen Debatten zu und es kam – nicht zuletzt geprägt von feministisch Forschenden und Aktivist*innen – auch zu einer Trendwende mit intensivierten rechtlichen und humanitären Schutzrahmen für geflüchtete Frauen. Dies war zweifelsohne relevant, jedoch wurden Frauen primär als hilfsbedürftige Opfer dargestellt. Aktuelle Studien belegen nicht nur ein Anhalten dieser Sichtweise auf Frauen, sondern auch ihre Handlungsmacht. Denn anhand diverser Fallstudien beleuchten Studien, wie Frauen die zumeist herausfordernden Bedingungen nach der Flucht in Aufnahmeräumen bewältigen.
