Zusammenfassung
Bereits im „prädigitalen“ Zeitalter besaßen die Kundenschnittstelle und die Kundendaten eine hohe Bedeutung. Doch es war umständlich, langwierig – meist marktforschungsbasiert – nur punktuell und kaum automatisiert möglich, Daten zu sammeln und zu verwerten. Neue Geschäftsmodelle, die direkt auf Kundendaten und vernetzten Systemen basieren, waren noch nicht realisierbar.
