Zusammenfassung

Im vorangegangenen Kapitel wurde gezeigt, wie das Konzept des Feldes der Macht durch einige Modifikationen als ein gesellschaftstheoretischer Schlüsselbegriff fungieren kann. Neben die elitensoziologische Verwendung des Konzepts (Kapitel 3) und die differenzierungstheoretische Deutung als Metafeld der Felder (Kapitel 4) tritt bei Bourdieu allerdings noch eine dritte, nämlich staatssoziologische Verwendungsweise, in der das Feld der Macht mitunter sogar mit dem Staat gleichgesetzt wird (siehe auch Kapitel 2). Der Staat wird in diesem Kontext durchgängig als Nationalstaat konzipiert, was eine problematische Engführung auf nationale Untersuchungseinheiten mit sich bringt.
