Zusammenfassung
In Studien werden Vornamen oft stellvertretend für soziale Gruppen verwendet. Dabei gefundene Gruppenunterschiede lassen sich jedoch – auch bei Konstanthaltung aller zusätzlichen Informationen – nicht unweigerlich nur auf die untersuchten Gruppen zurückführen. Mit den verwendeten Vornamen assoziierte Stereotype können für differenzielle Befunde mitverantwortlich sein. Aus diesem Grund war das Ziel dieser Studien, Vornamenspaare zu finden, die sich einzig im zu untersuchenden Merkmal unterscheiden. Dafür wurden insgesamt 64 Vornamen untersucht und auf unterschiedlichen Dimensionen beurteilt. Die Daten wurden auf homogene Vornamenspaare analysiert, die sich in keiner der erhobenen Dimensionen signifikant unterschieden. Dabei wurden Paare bezüglich des Geschlechts, der Ethnie (deutsch vs. türkisch) und des sozioökonomischen Status (hoch vs. niedrig) gebildet. Die gefundenen Vornamenspaare eignen sich für zukünftige Forschung, um einen Einfluss anderer als des zu untersuchenden Merkmals zu verringern.
