Zusammenfassung
Oftmals basieren digitale Geschäftsmodelle auf der Nutzung von Plattformen. Komplementoren nutzen diese Plattformen und veröffentlichen ergänzende digitale Produkte für Kunden der Plattformen. Exemplarisch seien Drittanbieter von komplementären Anwendungen in einem AppStore auf mobilen Plattformen genannt. Entscheidet sich ein Akteur für den Plattformbeitritt als Komplementor, ergeben sich Auswirkungen auf wesentliche Komponenten von dessen Geschäftsmodell. Dieser Einfluss von Plattformen auf die digitalen Geschäftsmodelle der Komplementoren findet in der Literatur bisher wenig Beachtung. Der vorliegende Artikel befasst sich daher mit den denkbaren Konsequenzen und Einschränkungen, die es bei digitalen Geschäftsmodellen von Komplementoren zu berücksichtigen gilt. Die Untersuchung erfolgt anhand des Business Modell Canvas mit Daten aus Experteninterviews. Abschließend werden die Auswirkungen diskutiert und Möglichkeiten für Komplementoren aufgezeigt.
