Zusammenfassung
In den letzten 20 Jahren hat sich Relationship Marketing als neuer Teilbereich des Marketing in Wissenschaft und Praxis etabliert. Zielsetzung dabei ist, eine langfristige Beziehung eines Unternehmens zu seinen Anspruchsgruppen (insbesondere Kunden) zu initiieren, zu erhalten und gegebenenfalls wiederherzustellen („Recruitment, Retention, Recovery“, „3 Rs“, vgl. z.B. Bruhn 2013: 66). In Analogie zu „klassischen“ Beziehungen zwischen Menschen erscheint es dabei wichtig und erfolgversprechend, eine ganzheitliche Kommunikation zu nutzen; entsprechend grundsätzlich hohe Relevanz haben multimodale Ansätze.
Heute wird zum Aufbau von Kundenbeziehungen oft das Internet – zum Beispiel in Form von Websites, Online Communities usw. – genutzt. Dies eröffnet einerseits neue Chancen im Einsatz multimodaler Kommunikation, schränkt diese andererseits aber auch ein. Hier setzt der vorliegende Beitrag an: Ziel ist es darzulegen, welche konkreten Probleme sich dabei ergeben und was mögliche Lösungen sein könnten (z.B. hinsichtlich olfaktorischer, gustatorischer und haptischer Elemente). Eine Besonderheit des gewählten Ansatzes liegt darin, dass die Diskussion aus Sicht verschiedener Fachdisziplinen in einem interdisziplinären Team erfolgt, konkret der Kommunikationswissenschaft, der Betriebswirtschaft und der Psychologie.
Aufgezeigt wird am Beispiel touristischer Dienstleistungen und deren Websites zunächst, welche Problemfelder bestehen. Hierzu werden zum einen die theoretischen Grundlagen zum Thema kurz dargestellt (z.B. Wahrnehmung, Emotionen und Online Customer Experience). Zum anderen werden Experteninterviews und Beobachtungen genutzt, um die konkreten Problemfelder anhand des gewählten Beispiels zu strukturieren und zu bewerten. Im Anschluss werden Implikationen zum Umgang mit den aufgezeigten Problemfeldern abgeleitet, indem Möglichkeiten und Grenzen zur Gestaltung multimodaler Werbebotschaften für diesen Anwendungsbereich kritisch diskutiert werden.
