Zusammenfassung
Das wissenschaftliche Publikationswesen basiert derzeit je nach Fachdisziplin zum überwiegenden Teil noch auf dem subskriptionsbasierten Modell, d. h. Universitätsbibliotheken erwerben Lizenzen für den campusweiten Zugriff auf E-Journals und halten Abonnements von Printzeitschriften, letzteres im digitalen Zeitalter jedoch mit stark rückläufiger Tendenz. Dieses Modell stellt wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken zunehmend vor Herausforderungen.
