Zusammenfassung
Armut bezeichnet einen Zustand, in dem Menschen ihre Grundbedürfnisse – Nahrungsaufnahme, Wohnen, eine den klimatischen Bedingungen angemessene Bekleidung, medizinische Basisversorgung – nicht befriedigen können (absolute, extreme bzw. existenzielle Armut) oder von der Beteiligung am sozialen, kulturellen bzw. politischen Leben ihres Landes weitgehend ausgeschlossen sind (relative Armut).
