Zusammenfassung
Als Gegenentwurf zu Herbert Marcuses eindimensionalem Menschen werden in diesem Beitrag die Chancen digitaler Praktiken zur Schaffung einer aktiven Demokratie diskutiert. Durch die Digitalisierung im 21. Jahrhundert erfolgte eine Transformation der Struktur und Ordnung von Information. In Formen von medialen Netzwerken kann ein politischer Widerstand organisiert werden, der im Sinne von Jacques Rancière das Bestehende in Frage stellt und die Gleichheit aller aktiv einfordert. In den Protesten von Occupy Wall Street und dem Arabischen Frühling ist diese Gegenöffentlichkeit bereits zu erkennen, ein radikaler gesellschaftlicher Wandel ist jedoch nur durch das vernetzte Zusammenwirken vieler möglich.

Die zentrale Problematik der Praxistheorie von Schatzki ist, wie soziale Ordnung hergestellt und aufrechterhalten werden kann. Sie denkt in der Regel nicht über das Bestehende hinaus und fragt nicht nach den den Spätkapitalismus transzendierenden Alternativen. Ihre von Wittgensteins Sprachphilosophie geprägte Perspektive, die den common sense ins Zentrum stellt, erlaubt keine Position der Kritik an der Eindimensionalität des Spätkapitalismus, was bereits Marcuse (1991, S. 173 f.) in Bezug auf Wittgenstein eindringlich herausgearbeitet hat. Artikulieren aber die digital gestützten sozialen Bewegungen, von den Zapatistas bis zu Occupy Wall Street, die intensiv digitale Medien nutzen, nicht einen Wunsch nach Gleichheit und nach einer anderen sozialen Ordnung?
