Unser Blick auf Natur ist zeit- und kulturabhängig. Die Erde stand lange im Mittelpunkt der Welt – zuweilen als flache Scheibe vorgestellt –, ehe ihr ein neuer Platz als um die Sonne kreisender Planet zugewiesen wurde. Diese uns heute selbstverständliche Einsicht wurde erst im 18. Jahrhundert zu einer von niemand Vernünftigem bezweifelten Auffassung.
