Zusammenfassung
Die Modellierungsmethodik Semantisches Objektmodell (SOM) entstand ab Ende der 1980er-Jahre mit dem Ziel, bestehende Modellierungsdefizite zu schließen und eine umfassende Modellierung betrieblicher Systeme zu ermöglichen. SOM hat sich seitdem in verschiedene Richtungen weiter entwickelt, die in diesem Buch dargestellt werden. Ausgangspunkt und Motivation für die Entwicklung der Methodik werden in diesem Kapitel vorgestellt.
