Zusammenfassung

Die junge, und in noch nicht allen europäischen Staaten gut etablierte, akademische Disziplin der Sozialen Arbeit blickt auf eine außerordentlich lange und intensive Geschichte der internationalen Kooperation zurück. Pionierinnen wie Alice Salomon oder auch Ilse Arlt organisierten ihre vor allem auch politische Arbeit, indem sie über Nationalgrenzen und Kontinente hinweg zusammenarbeiteten (weitere intensive Ausführungen dazu u.a. Cox & Pawar 2006; Borrmann u.a. 2007).
