Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag untersucht die Sozialform des „Flash Mob“, die in den letzten Jahren einige gesellschaftliche Aufmerksamkeit bekommen hat. Bei einem „Flash Mob“ versammeln sich Menschen, ermöglicht durch neue Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik, an einem (halb-)öffentlichen Ort und handeln auf Basis eines vorher kommunizierten Skriptes. Auf Außenstehende wirkt diese Aktivität überraschend.
Ausgehend von zwei teilnehmenden Beobachtungen vor Ort (2013, 2014) und der technisch unterstützten Auswertung der öffentlichen Daten auf der entsprechenden Facebook-Eventpage fragen wir danach, wie das „doing innovation“ in dieser Sozialform erfolgt. Es wird gezeigt, dass die kulturelle Innovation „Flash Mob“ nur durch gleichzeitige Innovationen im Raum- und Technikeinsatz möglich wird. Mehr noch: Erst die systematische Koppelung neuer Raumarrangements und technischer Innovationen bringt den „Flash Mob“ als Sozialform zum Erfolg.
