Zusammenfassung
In allen Gesellschaften werden Nahrungsmittel und Güter beschafft oder hergestellt und Dienstleistungen erbracht. In diesem Sinne ist Arbeit ein universelles Phänomen. Aber was haben so verschiedene Tätigkeiten wie die eines paläolithischen Jägers, einer Hirtin, eines Bauern, eines Handwerkers, eines Industriearbeiters, einer Hausfrau, einer Sekretärin, eines Wissenschaftlers gemeinsam, dass sie sich alle unter dem Begriff „Arbeit“ subsumieren lassen? Arbeit dient einem Zweck, der außerhalb ihrer selbst liegt.
