Zusammenfassung
Ein zentraler Aspekt von Diskriminierung besteht darin, dass Menschen als Angehörige bestimmter sozialer Gruppen oder Personenkategorien definiert werden. Ihnen wird damit das Recht bestritten, selbst zu bestimmen, wer sie sind und wer sie sein wollen. Diskriminierung beginnt also nicht erst mit negativen Bewertung, sondern bereits mit der Einordnung in eine Kategorie.
