Abstract
Medialisierung bezeichnet den Prozess der Adaption publizistischer Kalküle öffentlicher Aufmerksamkeitserzeugung im Bereich des Politischen. Der Beitrag rekapituliert den gegenwärtigen Ausarbeitungsstand des Konzepts und beschreibt Medialisierung als mehrdimensionales, reaktives und graduelles Mehrebenenphänomen. Ihm liegt die Auffassung zugrunde, dass sich Prozess und Ergebnis politischer Lobbyarbeit – wie überhaupt die meisten politischen Phänomene – heute nicht mehr zureichend verstehen lassen, wenn man vergisst, die Medialisierung der Politik als eine wichtige Randbedingungen in Rechnung zu stellen. Obwohl Medialisierung primärder Ermöglichung von Politik dient, sind politisch dysfunktionale Folgen keineswegs ausgeschlossen. Welche das im Falle politischer Lobbyarbeit sein könnten, wird im abschließenden Abschnitt des Textes skizziert.
