Zusammenfassung
Obwohl die neuere Genreforschung den Standpunkt vertritt, dass Genres nicht als Filmen inhärente Eigenschaft existieren, sondern vor allem Zuschreibungen durch Produzenten, Rezipienten etc. sind, so lässt sich an Diskursen ablesen, dass einige Genres weniger kanonisiert sind. Mögliche Gründe für die Marginalisierung dieser Genres sind, dass sie weniger Filme umfassen als stabilere Genres, sie innerhalb der Diskurse ausgesprochen unterschiedlich definiert werden oder ihr Status als Genre nicht umfassend anerkannt ist. Beispielhaft werden Fälle wie der Film Noir und der Actionfilm untersucht.
