Abstract

Concurrent sourcing ist eine duale Beschaffungsstrategie, bei der Unternehmen ein spezifisches Gut sowohl selbst herstellen als auch gleichzeitig am Markt fremdbeziehen. Da Eigenerstellung und Fremdbezug in der Literatur als sich theoretisch ausschließende Alternativen betrachtet werden, sind die verschiedenen Facetten dieser dualen Beschaffungsform wissenschaftlich bisher weitestgehend unbeleuchtet geblieben. Dies steht in Kontrast zu einer Reihe empirischer Belege, welche die unternehmenspraktische Relevanz des Phänomens belegen. Der vorliegende Beitrag geht der Frage nach, welche Determinanten der unternehmerischen Entscheidung zur Verwendung von concurrent sourcing als Beschaffungsstrategie zugrunde liegen. Die Untersuchung erfolgt auf Basis von sechs Fallbeispielen für die simultane Eigenerstellung und Fremdbeschaffung, die im Rahmen von Experteninterviews in der Landmaschinen‐ und Chemiebranche erhoben wurden.
