Zusammenfassung
Am 26. Juli 2012 verkündete der Präsident der Europäischen Zentralbank, Mario Draghi, auf einer Londoner Investorenkonferenz eine neue Strategie zur Bekämpfung der Eurokrise. Ab sofort werde die EZB Staatsanleihen von Eurostaaten ohne jegliche Mengenbeschränkung aufkaufen, sollte dies zur Eindämmung von Spekulationen nötig sein (Plickert 2014). Mit diesem Paukenschlag gelang es der EZB drei Jahre nach dem Ausbruch der Eurokrise erstmals, den Druck der Finanzmärkte auf die in Zahlungsschwierigkeiten geratenen Euroländer zu senken und damit die akute Phase der Eurokrise zu beenden.
