Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag untersucht die unterschiedlichen ökonomischen Transformationsstrategien in drei großen Schwellenländern, Brasilien, Indien und China im Kontext der bislang zwei Phasen der Weltwirtschaftskrise seit 2008/09. Er kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass die Krisenbearbeitungsstrategien und die damit verbundenen gesellschaftlichen Transformationen der drei Länder sich stark voneinander unterschieden. In Brasilien wurde die Krise als Chance genutzt, um eine Revitalisierung der entwicklungsstaatlichen Strategie voranzutreiben. In China leitete die Krise einen komplexen Strukturwandel ein, dessen Ausgang bisher noch ungewiss und zwischen Befürwortern einer weiteren Außenöffnung und Liberalisierung und Vertretern einer tiefergehenden sozial-korporatistischen Reorientierung umkämpft ist. Die indische Regierung setzte in der Krise dagegen auf die Verstetigung und Absicherung der graduellen Neoliberalisierung. Eine heterodoxe Wirtschaftspolitik wurde lediglich zwischenzeitlich zu Stabilisierungszwecken eingesetzt. Die These einer Konvergenz der B(R)IC(S)-Entwicklungsmodelle erscheint aufgrund dieser Tendenzen als fraglich.
