Abstract
This chapter deals with selected economic, social and complementary aspects of “the Races”, an established and recognized sporting event of an international sporting association. In conclusion, the Races must be defined as a significant and sustainable factor within the local economy as well as an image bearer for the host city and the region. The economic effects are considerable and should even increase if additional target groups, such as partners/ sponsors, team representatives and media representatives are taken into account. It is very fortunate that the social and complementary aspects were evaluated positively almost without exception. The organizational committee has obviously developed an event format comprising a mix of sports, show and party that delights spectators.
