Zusammenfassung
Zwei für den weiteren Verlauf der Auseinandersetzung weitreichende Entscheidungen wurden bereits in der Formulierung der Forschungsfragestellung (vgl. Kap.1) zum Ausdruck gebracht: Die pragmatistisch inspirierte Konzentration auf den Begriff des „Medienhandelns“ – in Abgrenzung zu Medienkompetenz oder Medienbildung – sowie die Betrachtung unterschiedlicher Umgebungen als „Kontexte“. Dieser Terminus wird in Anlehnung an eine Spielart des Pragmatismus, den „Kontextualismus“, gewählt (vgl. Fox 2008). Kern dieser Weltsicht ist es, das Handeln in einem spezifischen Kontext als Untersuchungsgegenstand zu begreifen: “Contextualists analyze all phenomena as acts in context“ (ebd.: 59). Das Ziel derartiger theoretischer Analysen besteht darin, praxisrelevantes Wissen hervorzubringen.
