Zusammenfassung
Die Kunst im 20. und beginnenden 21. Jahrhundert hat die Welt revolutioniert. Die Entwicklung abstrakter Kunstformen trug maßgeblich zu Globalisierungstendenzen bei, indem sie die Kommunikation von Menschen auf unterschiedlichen Kontinenten beeinflusste und weiterhin beeinflusst. Museen sind dementsprechend expandiert, die internationale Kunstszene boomt, Kunst im öffentlichen Raum hat einen ganz neuen Stellenwert bekommen. Die Entwicklungen auf dem Kunstmarkt haben dazu geführt, dass Exponate nicht nur einer kleinen Elite von Gutsituierten zugänglich, sondern dass Originale auch für den Durchschnittsbürger erschwinglich sind.
