Zusammenfassung
„Habs’ wenigstens a gescheide Auswahl?“ Diese präzise Frage einer älteren Münchner Wählerin, die anläßlich der Bundestagswahl 1976 in der Süddeutschen Zeitung als Karrikatur abgebildet war, griff Manfred Schmidt in seiner ersten richtungsweisenden Monographie auf und entwickelte hieraus ein Forschungsfeld, das über Jahrzehnte hinweg unter dem Namen „Parteiendifferenzthese“ bzw. „Parties-Do-Matter“ These in der natonal- und internationalvergleichenden Politikwissenschaft diskutiert wurde.
