Zusammenfassung
In den aktuellen Debatten über Kompetenzen wird des Öfteren Heinrich Roth herangezogen. Er beschrieb schon früh in seiner pädagogischen Anthropologie (Roth, 1971) den Erwerb von Selbst-, Sach- und Sozialkompetenz als wesentlich für die Entwicklung der Persönlichkeit. In dieser Tradition wird heute den Kompetenzen zudem oftmals noch eine methodische Kompetenz hinzugefügt, so beispielsweise in den EPAs verschiedener Fächer, auch des Politikunterrichts. So ist ein weiter Kompetenzbegriff entstanden, der sich auf umfassende Handlungsfähigkeiten in vielen Bereichen des Lebens bezieht. Er lässt sich beliebig erweitern, so geschehen zum Beispiel im Bildungsplan 2004 von Baden-Württemberg.
