Wir betrachten einen unendlich ausgedehnten homogenen und isotropen Körper. An der Stelle r =0 befindet sich eine kontinuierliche Wärmequelle, die den Wärmestrom Φ(τ) abgibt (SI-Einheit Watt, W). Dann ist Φ(τ) dτ die in der Zeit von t =τ bis t = τ +dτ abgegebene Wärmemenge, die ein Temperaturfeld gemäß Gl. (7.4) erzeugt.
